New Delhi: The Shraddha murder case has taken a turn when Delhi Police has cracked the Mistry of murder case in the capital of India. The 27-year-old girl was murdered by his alleged boyfriend named Aftab Amin who had chopped her body into as many as 35 pieces.

The horrifying murder happened about 6 months ago and Shraddha’s boyfriend was under the radar of Delhi police. The two got together via a dating app in Mumbai. They were in a live-in relationship for 3 years and had shifted to Delhi. Soon after the two shifted to Delhi, Shraddha started pressuring the man to marry her.

According to police findings, accused Aftab killed Shraddha very ruthlessly in about 35 pieces and brought a refrigerator and kept them which he used to dispose of at different locations in Delhi to escape getting caught.

According to investigation reports, both Shraddha and Aftab worked in a call Centre located in Mumbai. After sometime they came to Delhi and started living together when families raised red flags on their relationship.

Her family got worried and suspicious after she stopped taking calls and also stopped putting any updates on social media. Then Shraddha’s father in November, approached Mumbai police and lodged a missing person’s complaint.

During the initial investigation, the victim’s last location was found in Delhi, and on the basis of this, the case was transferred to Delhi police. The victim’s father told the police about his daughter’s relationship with Aftab and suspected his involvement in his daughter’s absence.

Before killing her, Aftab watched many crime movies and series even though he was inspired by the crime show ‘Dexter’.

The accused identified as Aftab Amin Poonawalla, a resident of Mumbai, was caught on Saturday on the basis of the deceased’s father’s complaint and has been sent to police remand for five days, the police said on Monday.

The accused, during questioning, confessed to the crime and said that they often used to fight as Shraddha was pressurizing him for marriage.

“The accused has been arrested and a case under IPC sections 302 (murder) and 201 (causing disappearance of evidence of an offence committed) has been registered at Mehrauli police station,” officials said.

Police also recovered some bones from the accused’s rented flat and officials said that the efforts to recover the remaining parts of the body were on…
